Eden Realty presents · The River District · Shalimar
Kolkata Westshore — a 38-acre master-planned riverside district on the west bank of the Hooghly, directly across Vidyasagar Setu. Twelve minutes from Victoria Memorial.
Chapter 01 · The Idea
Born beside rivers, the world's greatest cities were never meant to remain on one bank. At defining moments in their history, they crossed — not simply to grow larger, but to become greater.
Different rivers. Different continents. The same story. Now, Kolkata.

Chapter 02 · 1690
The Hooghly was Kolkata's first highway, first marketplace, first lifeline. For three centuries the city flourished beside it — while the western shore remained the view across the water, never the destination. For London it changed at Canary Wharf. For Shanghai, at Pudong. For Kolkata, that moment is now.

For over three hundred years the Hooghly gave Kolkata everything — trade, prosperity, culture, identity — and also a front row to history. The western shore remained the view across the water. It's time for Kolkata to join the league.

Chapter 03 · The Unveiling
The river was never the edge — it was the middle. The silk of the Hooghly now threads one city across two shores, and the far bank answers at last.
The shore Kolkata faces.
Chapter 04 · Introducing

The next riverside district of Kolkata — where hospitality meets home, business meets leisure, and shore meets skyline.
Chapter 05 · Measured, not promised
Built like a city. Scaled to a district.
“Where the mind is without fear
and the head is held high…”Rabindranath Tagore

Chapter 06 · The Masterplan
Residences, retail, a riverside five-star hotel, the International Club and a hundred metres of private ghat — one riverfront composition. The district gate already stands, photographed here.

Chapter 08 · The Riverfront
Hospitality design direction — indicative only
The far bank was always there.
Only the crossing was missing.
Chapter 09 · The 700-Acre Shore
Why is this Kolkata's best shore? Because Westshore is the first master-planned move on a stretch where nearly seven hundred acres of green, campus, port and railway riverfront stand together — the largest integrated canvas of its kind in any Indian metropolitan core. This is the ground on which the new Howrah is being drawn — the anchor of the city's next chapter.

The Second Bridge
Vidyasagar Setu rises at the district's own riverbank — over it, the Maidan and Victoria Memorial in minutes. This is the shore's actual view.
~270 acres · developed green
India's oldest botanic garden, founded 1787 — home of the Great Banyan and its 3,700 aerial roots.
~123 acres · the knowledge quarter
Where Eden partnered with IIEST to restore Neem Jheel as a 4.4-acre nature-study park.
Public investment · underway
A new road over-bridge and station works are under construction at the terminal one minute away — Howrah's next rail gateway.
India's 18th Water-Metro city
Shalimar Ghat is named among sixteen proposed Water Metro stops on the Hooghly.

The Hospitality Shore
On port riverfront parcels within this canvas, multiple five-star hotels are planned — ghat-front hospitality positioned for the river's new cruise and water-metro era, bringing to the west bank the luxury address it has never had. Operators will be announced in due course.
A developed heart and riverfront for Howrah and Kolkata — this is what the port's shore is becoming.

Chapter 10 · In the News
Around Shalimar, public investment is converging — roads, rail, metro and the river itself.
